Kenneth “Rick” Richard Strausbaugh, 63, of Ft. Madison, IA, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA.

He was born on July 31, 1949 in LaHarpe, IL, the son of Roy and Betty Gracey Strausbaugh.

Rick graduated from Hamilton High School in Hamilton, IL with the Class of 1968.

He had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings, KOKX Radio in Keokuk and at the Carthage, IL Hospital as an EMT.

He enjoyed creating wood craft projects and listening to oldies music. He was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He had volunteered as a coach for the Keokuk girls Little League. His favorite time of day was morning when he enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee. Rick was a loving father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by three daughters, Shannon Leann Evermon and her husband Chuck of Ft. Madison, IA , Amanda Sue Diveney and her husband Darin of Hamilton, IL and Rickie Cassidy and her husband Mike of Ft. Madison, IA, seven grandchildren, Halley Dawn Evermon and Brittany Lynn Evermon of Keokuk, IA, Marlana Sue Stephenson of Ft. Madison , IA, Mason Palmer Diveney and Micah James Diveney of Hamilton, IL, Dani Rene Garner of Wayland, MO and Gage Michael Garner of Canton, MO, one brother, Byron Leroy Strausbaugh of Valley Center, CA, one sister, Margaret Karen Brower of Bowen, IL and his ex-wife, Marlene Sue Jobe of Warsaw, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter at birth, Tammy Sue Strausbaugh.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Mike McMillen officiating.

Memorials may be made to Lexington Square in Keokuk, IA.
